My son wants to study statistics (he initially became interested through studying baseball stats, but he likes logic and probabilities for their own sake, too.)
He has a teacher who is learning the subject with him and will guide him through it, but we need a good basic, non-boring text at the high school level.

They've been reading "The Cartoon Guide to Statistics" together up till now, but are at a point where they need some more comprehensive instruction. The "Statistics for Dummies" book is more at the college level.

Anybody have any fun suggestions?

I would recommend "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Statistics." It's geared toward the beginner and the author does a good job of presenting the information with a good sense of humor.

There is cliff notes which I enjoy and a book entitled Teach yourself statistics, by Alan Graham. Hope this helps.
