In a poll of married couples, about 79 percent of the men and 55 percent of the women were employed outside the home. In 39 percent of the couples, both husband and wife work outside the home. Find the probability that, in a randomly selected couple, either the husband or the wife works outside the home.

Is this a factoral problem? I get the formulas mixed up.

Thanks

P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A and B)

P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A and B)

So its

=.79 + .55 - .39
=95%

Yes, that's correct.
