View Full Version : Which stats package is the best for medical research? Susanbwh 02-09-2006, 08:54 AM Which package would you recommend, SPSS, STATA, or SAS? Or something else??? JohnM 02-09-2006, 09:07 AM The most commonly used package in biomedical research is SAS, followed by SPSS. Susanbwh 02-09-2006, 09:19 AM My Vaio is corrupt, and I cannot open SPSS, but I have Excel in my desk top. Can I do the similar analysis using Excel??? until I get SPSS back? JohnM 02-09-2006, 09:23 AM Not really. Excel is only equipped to do basic stuff, unless you're good at writing macros (VBA programs). I think you're going to need to get SPSS running again. Susanbwh 02-13-2006, 11:59 AM I see a lot of demonstration of MINITAB. Is this good? JohnM 02-13-2006, 12:17 PM Minitab is great - but your original question was about packages used in medical research - I know SAS and SPSS are the most commonly used in that field. Minitab is a great package, but I don't think it's used as widely in the biomedical field. |
