Difficulty correlating terminology with symbols.

The book we are using for this class uses words instead of the symbols in some of the homework problems we are using.

My question is:
Is P(A and B)= P(AUB) or is it P(A and B)= P(A (symbol for intersection) B)

Basically, does "and" refer to Union or Intersection?

"and" = intersection = n (upside-down U)

"or" = union = U
