I'm doing Statistics. I came across qed in Probability chapter. What's the meaning of this word?

E.g.: 1= P(A) + P(not A) qed jahred 11-28-2008, 04:20 PM QED is used to denote the end of a proof. it's an acronym for the latin quod erat demonstratum, or 'as was to be demonstrated'. you can ignore it, it carries no statistical meaning or anything.
