I'm going over a study guide that I have for a test on Thursday and I'm having issues finding the answer to a "neither" question and I wanted to see if anyone can explain how to find the answer to me. I know that the answer if 1/12 and 5/12 respectively. because we went over the answers in class just not how to obtain the answer.

Six vitamin and three sugar tablets identical in appearance are in a box. One tablet is taken at random and given to Person A. A tablet is then selected and given to Person B. What is the probability that neither was given vitamin tablets and what is the probability that both were given a vitamin tablet?

Prob of both being sugar tablet=first is sugar & second is sugar
Prob of first is sugar is =3/9
prob of second is sugar is 2/8
Combined prob is = 3/9 * 2/8
= 1/12
Accordingly try other one.
