Combination question...

A combination lock has a total of 4 rows of numbers(0-9) and will unlock
with the proper 3 - number sequence. How many possible combinations exist?
(even though we all know that a 4 row lock will not open with 3 numbers!)

you need to be more specific on the question, for example:

suppose the sequence to open is 4,5,6

i would suppose that x,4,5,6 would work as should 4,5,6,x

but what about 4,x,5,6 and its variations?

if you can be more specific in the problem than i can answer the question, just for fun.
