Hi. I don't know how to analyse this data properly. I have 2 data sets, each containing 29 values. Each of these values is the variance of 5 data points from my experiment.

One of the data sets contains the variances of data points obtained without treatment. The other data set contains the variances of data points obtained after treatment.

How can I compare the variances with and without treatment to assess if the variance is different with or without treatment?

I've done a basic stats course but I don't think we covered anything like this.

Also can anyone confirm that using variance is the best way to measure the dispersion of each group of 5 data points?

There is a test for equality of variances.
You can use that with F test as table value for comparison.
