    Is it necessary to use Cronbach's alpha for a checklist?

    The checklist in question is the Life Events Checklist (LEC) and I am using 7 questions from the checklist. I re-coded the answers, to 0= no experienced and 1= experienced. Is there another way to test the reliability of a checklist? I have not seen many articles reporting alpha for the LEC.
