How to compare ratings from different sites?

I don't have any statistics software. I am willing to get one if it's (a) not too expensive and (b) not too difficult. I have taken a couple of statistics classes, but that was way back in the Roosevelt Administration (FDR, not Teddy ). But Excel has a lot of statistics functions built in. I...

How to compare ratings from different sites?

No, unlike Amazon, which does display the distribution, most of these just provide the mean and n. And some of them don't even provide the mean, just the stars,m whioch look like they are rounded to the nearest 0.5 star.

How to compare ratings from different sites?

Is there a formula that I can use to compare ratings from different sites? Let's say I am looking for someone to remodel a bathroom. If I search for bathroom remodelers, I find ratings from Yelp, Google, Houzz, Home Adviser, Angi, and others. Most of these give an Amazon-style 5-star rating and...

Stay logged in not working for me

I'm mostly using Edge, but sometimes FireFox. I frequent many other forums and don't have this problem with any others. The other thing that it odd is that Edge usually asks me if I want it to remember my userid and password. It never asks for this forum. I don't know what incognito mode is, so...

Stay logged in not working for me

Am I doing something wrong? Everytime I log in, I check the "Stay Logged In" box, but when I come back, it tells me I need to log in again.

Is there an asymetric Normal distribution with end points?

Yes, I understand. Most of my data is proficiency measures (percent correct or percent success), so it ranges from 0-1.

Is there an asymetric Normal distribution with end points?

Wow! This is exactly the solution I was looking for. Thank you!!! I actually looked at Beta.Inv, but did not understand it. I was about to try it, but got distracted with other options. I now have Excel VBA code that will do exactly what I need. I'll post it here as soon as I can run a few...

Is there an asymetric Normal distribution with end points?

These are the primary reasons I think the Beta will be better for me than the truncated Gaussian. I am trying to calculate the proficiency of different people on different tasks and evaluate how their (average) skill improves with practice. I'd like an Excel function (like an inverse function)...

Is there an asymetric Normal distribution with end points?

Beta looks interesting. And unlike the truncated Gaussian, it goes to zero at the end points. I was able to get some good plots using Excel's Beta.Dist function. Here's one: But I have a couple of questions: 1. The Y value in the CDF (right) chart is the cumulative probability. But what is...

Is there an asymetric Normal distribution with end points?

Wow. I thought I checked that out. I guess I kept searching for "skewed" normal distribution. That looks like exactly what I need. Now I have something to keep me busy for a day or two. Thank you very much.

Is there an asymetric Normal distribution with end points?

Is there a distribution like a Normal distribution, but finite, that has a settable min, max, and mean? For example, a distribution with a mean of 65 and no values below 0 or above 100? If it also has a settable std dev, great. I'd like to be able code code it in an Excel function that will...
