I am currently working on a project in which I am comparing values of force generation in green crabs found both through a strain gauge and also through a equation based on biomechanical properties. The predictions I had set out with was that these two methods would produce a slope of 1 and a intercept of 0 in that both methods were equally valid and supplied the same force value. This was found to be significant with a line equation of y=1.0771x+0.8986. I was just looking for some help in analyzing this data in comparing the slope to the predicted slope and the intercept to the predicted slope. I know a t-test compares the slope to 0 but I was wondering if there was an analysis that would be a means of comparison here. Any direction would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards.
