a fairly easy regression problem with answer

I'm having some trouble figuring out what to do here...it's a problem to be addressed in class TOMORROW so we weren't really guided on how to do it, more of a "here's the question and the answer... see if you can figure out how to get to the answer." any help would be great!!

    National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
accident rate as a function of driver’s age:

    f(y) = 60.0 - 2.28(y) + 0.0232(y2)
    y is age, 16 < y < 85

    Find the estimated age when
    accident rate is a minimum.

    Answer: 49

Simply take the derivative of f(y) with respect y and then equate this result to zero and solve for y....and you'll have the result (Answer) of approximately 49.

ah man! i knew it was something simple like that... i took the derivative and then treated the F(y) part as 1y for some reason instead of just 0. my brain is fried from studying from finals haha. thanks for the help!
