5000 mirror are being delivered every week for a period of 2 years. Breakage percentage is 1 every 100 mirror so 0.01 prob.
a)If you take a random sample of 10 mirrors and find 1 broken one, what is the probability of finding 1 or more broken mirrors out of a sample of 10 if the probability of receiving a broken mirror is 0.01.
What I tried to do is the following: N=5000 n=10 S=50 and X=1,2,3 all the way to 10
I tried calculating the probability using the general hyper geometric formula. However, it is impossible to calculate factorial 4950 so I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
If anyone could lead me into the right direction I would really appreciate it!
