    Talking it's me again, need some help, thanks

    Ok. I think I have it, but my answer does not quite match up. ???
    A RECENT POLL OF 700 PPL. WHO WORK INDOORS FOUND THAT 278 OF THEM SMOKE. IF THE RESEARCHERS WANT TO BE 98% CONFIDENT OF THEIR RESULTS TO WTHIN 3.5%, HOW LARGE A SAMPLE IS NECESSARY???
    OK
    IT'S A POPULATION PROPORTION / SAMPLE SIZE.
    2
    N= P^Q^(Za/2 divided by E)
    p^=.40
    q^=.60
    za/2=2.33
    E=3.5

    i got 1063, but the answers she listed to choose from are
    A) 751
    B) 1062
    C) 1301
    D) 532
    this is perplexing and frightful.
    let me know if I did this right or if 1062 is the answer
    thanks!!!

    Hi Hilary,

    It's probably just some rounding error - you would be correct to choose B)1062
