    How to re-calculate?

I know it is an absolute basic question, but I just can't get this ... program to re-calculate. I have added a couple of cases after having calculated new variables out of my base data. How can I get SPSS (I am using Version 18) to also calculate my created variables. I have searched the full help pages - tried all buttons and just can't find it. Thanks for your help for a complete SPSS novice.

I haven't used v18, but in older versions, you need to re-run the computation. If it's a complicated formula, you may want to cut and paste. If not, simply re-run the calculation as another variable (like Calc2). When you do it again, it will include the cases you've added but it will not change your original computed variable.
