    What is the exact formula for Scheffe's yest?

    You would get the F critical value (cv) as:

    F_{cv}=\left ( k-1 \right )F_{\alpha }\left ( k-1,df_{w} \right )

    where k is the number of groups and the degrees of freedom are (k-1) and df_w from the overall ANOVA summary (Mean Squares Within).

    Region Mean N Source Sum of

    A 11.96 55 Between Gp 632.5 3 210.826 8.86
    B 14.75 160 Within Gp 4425.52 396 11.1756
    C 12.10 136 Total 5058 399
    D 13.41 49

    If I am missing any thing pls mention it.

    Just take the critical value above (F_cv) and multiply it by the standard error to obtain the critical distance.

    Thus, if you want to compare region 1 with 4 you would look to see if:


    Ybar1 - Ybar4 >= Sqrt[((k-1)*F_.05 (k-1, dfw)]*Sqrt[MSw*(1/n1 + 1/n4)]

    11.96 -13.46 >= Sqrt[((3)*2.627)]*Sqrt[11.1756*(1/55 + 1/49)].
