    What are the odds?

    Hi all,

So on a (e.g.) 140-question multiple choice examination, one would expect a score of about 25% if a testees' responses were random.

I need an estimate of the probability that a score of, say, 27% could be a result of random responses by a testee.

I'm ready to fire up SPSS if some kind, indulgent soul will tell me what analysis to use, or will share a link to an explanation.

    Thanks in advance ...

If it's completely random guessing then the distribution of possible scores will be determined by a binomial distribution.
