The study aims to investigate whether respondents’
age (Young Vs Old)
gender (male Vs female)
Ethnicity (White vs Black)

has any effect of their perceptions of
1. what is child abuse (5-point scale 1=Not abuse 5=Definately abuse)
2. how likely they would report the incident were they the child experiencing “it” (5-point scale 1=Not report 5=Definately report)

There are 8 vignettes where several characteristics are manipulated (age and gender of child and perpetrator) which All participants are asked to look at before answering the 2 questions on a 5-point Likert scale.

I am unsure how to analyse this data as I’ve simply read too many different sources and confused myself.
Am I to correct in treating the data as ordinal as opposed to interval (as for each vignette out of 8 each participant only provides 2 answers from the 2 likert scale questions) ?

Finally I am interested in seeing whether any of the respondents’ demographics have an effect on which vignette the rank as depicting the most and least abusive form of child abuse.

Please let me know if any more information is needed.
