I'm trying to find a visual method to simply express change in ranked data.

I've done research on exudate levels in wounds assessed to none, light, moderate, heavy or very heavy (ranks 0-4) before and after a dressing has been used.

What I want to do is present the data to show if the exudate level has changed in a meaningful way. Its a small sample size (62 cases).

Is there a method of showing average changes (from before to after) pictorially?

I've found nothing on google or elsewhere on here.

There's no control group so running stats may be innapropriate.

Any thoughts?
