    Comparing species using summary data

    Hi Everyone
I want to compare thermal preference among lizard species. The species differ in sizes and i guess one will need to do ancova.
The problem is, I only have summary data (mean, standard deviation and N).
The only test I could find using summary data was 1-way ANOVA which is not sufficient.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards
    Christoff

Can you get summary data by different sizes - i.e., small, mediaum, large, etc.?

    Hi Lumhearts

Then can you run different one-way ANOVAs on different sizes? This would be (almost) equivalent to running an ANCOVA.

Ho do you then test for a difference between the species that are grouped in different "size"-classes?

You would just eyeball it. Basically, handeling the ANOVAs in different size groups is a type of control. If they are all significant, then size does not matter. Else, it does.
