    Using Chi Square

    Hello Experts,

I am currently working with a research. I would like to use non parametric test particularly the chi square test. I have a variable A with categories and observed values as follows Monday = 20 , Tuesday = 5 and Wednesday =25. I would like to compare it to expected values of Monday = 0, Tuesday =0 and Wednesday = 40. I performed it in SPSS and yielded a significant result. However, what i mean with the expected values is that these values are the exact value and not the minimum values. Meaning instead of getting 20 on Mondays, I am expecting it would be 0 and for Tuesday instead of 5, I'm expecting 0 and for Wednesday i'm expecting 50. I wish to know if the data shows significance compare to the expected values. With that thinking in my research, i would like to seek assistance on how to deal with the result.

    Thank you and more power

    Chris

    20 / 5 / 25 (proportions 0.4 / 0.25 / 12.25) you can compare to the expected
    proportions 0 / 0 / 100 . You should do a little search for descriptions of the
    one sample Chi square test.

    Kind regards

    K.
