How to run Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test of two groups in SPSS 18

    Hello,
I would like to run Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test in SPSS 18 for the following data:
There are 50 runners in the sample.
I tested their pulse BEFORE the run.
Some of the drank an energy drink from type 'A'.
The rest drank an energy drink from type 'B'.
I tested their pulse AFTER the run.

    The database contains 3 columns:
Pulse BEFORE, Pulse AFTER, energy (Scale: 'A' or 'B')

How do I run Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test for the two groups in SPSS 18, I would like to test the significant for each group.

    Many thanks,
    Avital

You can use select cases or you can use split file.

The usual way would be not to analyse the two groups
separately but to perform a repeated measures / mixed
    analysis of variance.

    Kind regards

    K.
