Looking to Convert R code into SAS

*This was posted on R-help as well*

Hi, I am looking to hire someone to convert a small bit of R code into SAS code. The R code is about 2 word pages long ( I have the original R code as well) and uses Snell's law to convert likert scales into interval data. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You already posted this on the R help mailing list. If you cross post please tell all parties you're doing so. Additionally I don't remember you following any of the suggestions from the R help list.

I apologize, I am new to this. What do you mean by telling all parties I cross post? Does your reply to this serve the same purpose? Do I need to go back onto R help and post that I have posted on another blog?

I did try the suggestions on the R help list, as stated : I can't covert from SAS to R (not practical); Calling the R code from SAS is not working; and finally positing to mediafire got nothing

I thought it would be inappropriate to post again to the same board the same problem, but if that is not considered wrong I will re-post.

Re: Looking to Convert R code into SAS

@willsburg cross posting means you post the same question in 2 different places without telling the other. That means someone from one site is spending time to solve a problem that's already been solved elsewhere. Usually if I post in two different places I link them by posting the web address to the other in both (here is an example of where I've done this: LINK).

Now back to your original problem. Most of us here tend to be R users. The one guy here I know that is pretty apt in both programs (Dason) is out of town until at least the end of the week. I think calling the R from SAS is your best bet. May I suggest you ask this question at (how to read in R code from SAS) at stack.overflow.com. They're a computing site and someone there is more likely to be able to respond. Mark your question with both R and SAS tags and may I suggest you leave the for hire out of your post. With the body of packages and methods coming out in R I think it'd be advantageous for you to learn to call R code from SAS.
