Which SPSS statistical analysis to use to compare the results from two Likert scales?

    Hello,

I have designed two Likert scales based on the theory of planned behaviour which argues that the purchase likelihood of a product results from the attitude towards an abstract attribute of such product. So a positive attitude should be tranlasted into high purchase intention and a negative attitude into a low purchase intention.

I would like to know which statistical analysis is the most relevant to use to compare the results from my two Likert scales so that I may be able to see if a positive attitude really corresponds to a high purchase intention and vice versa.

    Thank you for your help.

    Gaëlle

Do you mean "compare" or "analysis" by compare? two corresponding Likert-scales sound like a correlation case. A Spearman correlation coefficient can tell you how the two scales correspond without "comparing" them.
