Using the formula in Nunnally and Bernstein I am attempting to compute the reliability for linear combinations. The problem is that we are combining 3 factors and 2 single item measures. The formula calls for the reliabilty of each in computing the linear combinations reliability. What should I put in for the reliability of the single item measures - the mean of the other measures? Any suggestions?
