1. ## analyzing scatter plot...help!

Hi.
I'm trying to analyze the scatter plot..
There are three data that i had to use for this question: height, gender and right hand span

From the given data, i obtained, I found the correlation between height and right hand span for the group as a whole is: 0.556

Then, I had to produce a scatter plot for: height vs right hand span (please refer to attachment).

From this graph, I need to make a comment on the relationship between height and right hand span, for the group as a
whole. Does the relationship depend upon gender?

Can anyone help me with it? please explain in detail..since i don't really have clue..

Thanks

Does there appear to be a general trend to the data? If you were to fit a line to those data points to embody that trend ("trendline"), what would it look like? What if you fit such a line to only the black points? To only the red points? Would those trendlines you draw overlap exactly? Do the points seem randomly dispersed or do they cluster together by gender?

I drew a trendline(linear). The trendlines indicates that, r-squared value for male is: 21.2% and for female: 11.1%. What does this mean??

The points tend to cluster together by gender.. they are not randomly dispersed.
Should I explain more on r-squared value?? and if i need to..how can i do reasoning for it?

Thanks
