Frequency data analysis - repeated measures, between groups
Hi,
I am using SPSS and testing frequency data before and after a treatment, plus follow-up. The variable I am looking at is frequency of symptoms (answer is 1 to 5; 1 = 10% of the time, 2 = 25% of the time...etc).
I am interested in how to assess changes in frequency from T1 to T2, and if there is a significant difference between treatment and control in this change in frequency. I have been looking at McNemar and Cochran's Q (although I have to change my data to binary data for these) but can't work out who to compare between-groups AND within-groups. What test can I use? And how do I do this on SPSS?
I then need to compare changes just for one group (treatment) from post-test to follow-up on frequency data. Is there anyway to do this without going binary, or do I just use McNemar for this and change to binary data?
