A Good Beginners Book

Hi,

I have recently started an MSc in Finance which has a basic stats and stats for finance modules.

I am a complete beginner to stats and to be honest am not coping well with it. Can anyone recomend a good book that will help at a beginner - intermediate level. Something with plenty of example would be good.

I'd suggest you start with

Introductory Statistics with R

it has examples that you can see in practice and then continue with something like

Mathematical Statistics: A Unified Introduction (Springer Texts in Statistics)

Not an easy one but clesr and consise

I would recommend a classic. Not cheap but great for beginners.
