    non-central chi-square distribution

    Dear All

I do not have enough background in statistics. Can any one please tell me how to finde probabality for noncentrally chi-sqaure random variables. I mean, are there somes table like normal distribution to calculate it.

    Abid,

    http://www.statsoft.com/textbook/sttable.html#chi

where there is a chi-square table you can take a look at.

P.S., I don't know what you mean by non-central chi-square. If you're talking about the mode of the distribution, and by central you mean 0, chi-square is always non-central.

    thanks for your reply,

I do not have any strong background of statistics, I just came across a problem where I had to find the prob for noncentrally distributed chi-square distribution. I have found a function in MATLAB and for finding that. Once again thanks for your reply.

A brief description of noncentral chi-square distribution is given at the link

Oh great. Matlab is the best for doing that sort of thing.

chi2cdf, to find out the cumulative of chi-square, is it?
