unparied test or Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test? and normal distribution test

hi,

i did an experiment looking at agressive behaviour between two groups of pigs, one with environmental enrichment and one without, so my data look something like this below. i did scan sampling every 5 minutes so each value is the number of pigs being agressive for each group at at a certian time. its not important that its over time tho.
i think i have to do an unpared t test or Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test if the data isnt normally distrubuted. however im realy not sure. i dont know how to test for normality either. i can use either genstat or excel. if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated! i figured the smirnov test was the test for normality, but my stats package wont do it, so as i think with small samples normality tests are often wrong, so i can ignore it? therefore i just went ahead and ran the paire T-test. if this was wrong please let me know!
