Do I need to center a transformed variable?

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knew whether I need to center a transformed variable (a log) before computing an interaction term?

Thanks so much in advance for your help!

You do not. That I know.

Are there advantages? I thought about this for a bit, and I have not ran into one in my ~meager~ experience. In general though the more you cudgel a variable with transformations for whatever purposes the more difficult the interpretation gets.
