    Video game equipment

    Hello everyone,

My friend has been playing this game called Tabula Rasa, and is trying to make the perfect armor for his character. In order to do so, he has to "craft" his armor to achieve the highest quality.

To craft an armor, you must have a certain amount of recipes. Each upgrade you do to the armor is called a mod. A maximum of 3 mods are allowed on the armor. Each mod can be crafted from level 1 to level 5. Every time you craft to the next level, there is a chance to succeed and a chance to fail, and the chances of succeeding become less as the chances of destroying the whole armor become greater. Here are the percentages for each level:

    Chances to succeed/Chances to fail(destroy)

    level 0-1 100%/0%
    level 1-2 86%/3%
    level 2-3 36%/16%
    level 3-4 15%/21%
    level 4-5 6%/23%

So while crafting, there is a chance that it will succeed, it will fail, or nothing will happen at all.

The information we need is this:

What are the odds (chances to success) to get the armor to:

Mods 5:5:5 (each number is the mod level. So 5 would be 6% chance of success and 23% fail)

    Mods 5:4:4

    Mods 5:3:3

    Mods 4:4:4

Also for each combination, how many times will he have to craft in order to succeed?

0.019% of armors will get here. That's about 1-in-5000

Thank you for the information. He was very excited to hear that!

My friend would like to know a few more calculations.

If Mod A = Recipe A, Mod B = Recipe B, and Mod C = Recipe C; How many Armors, and how many of each recipe would be needed.... according to the odds ... To achieve This.

    A5/B3/C3

    A5/B2/C2

    A4/B3/C3

So for example, you had calculated that A5/B3/C3 (Mod 5/3/3) was a 1 in 40 chance. Since it requires 11 recipes if all of the mods succeed for 5/3/3... does that mean it would require 440 recipes on 40 armors, equaling A200/B120/C120? Also take into account the armors and recipes that will be destroyed on the way to completing the goals.

The game was very good when it came out. My friend has been complaining about new patches, and I think it's going downhill now because Age of Conan just came out.

He had the one of the first characters in a certain class maxed out in level first in his server. I think hes pretty much done with Tabula Rasa.
