    Is this wrong?

I want to test the hypothesis that there is no difference between scores on one measure of anxiety and a different measure of anxiety.

First of all, is it wrong to set out to test a null hypothesis?

and secondly is it wrong to use a related t-test to look for differences between scores on different tests?

    please help!!

Oke first it is not wrong to want to prove a null hypothesis.

Secondly testing if there is a difference between two entirely different measures is in general wrong.
It’s like testing if there is a statistical difference between the height of the trees in my street measured in meters and then measured in feet.

There is no real difference but I will get a highly significant result.

Only if I transform all the measurements from feet into meters or vice versa can a valid test can be done.
