Hi there, I have the following question

A new test for cancer is evaluated. We have 1000 subjects. Amongst the group known to have cancer (598 subjects), 403 obtain a positive indication from the test. Amongst the rest of the subjects (normals), only 103 obtain a positive indication.

What is the specificity and sensitivity of the test?

The way I answered the question is by stating the type errors (I and II)
so for type I error that is False Positive--> 598-403 =195
type II error False Negative Normal is 103
so True Negative is (1000-598)-103=299
True Positive =403

Sens. =403/598=0.674 and Spec. =299/402=0.744

is this correct?
