    Thank you maqsood.aslam, for pointing out the existence of gamm4 and its relation to mgcv (modified generalised crossvalidated)

    It seems like gamm4 does: “Fits the specified generalized additive mixed model (GAMM) to data, by making use of the modular fitting functions provided by lme4 (new version).” “gamm4 is based on gamm from package mgcv, but uses lme4 rather than nlme as the underlying fitting
    engine”

    There are many links on this site to introductions to R and plotting in R. You also need to show that you have done some effort to solve a problem (to receive help).
