    R-Survival Analysis Interpretation of Coefficients

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me on how to interpret the coefficient from an analysis I have carried out in R(survival library).

The data is right censored, the dependent variable was modelled under the gaussian distribution and the independent variable is a categorical variable (3 categories).

    Thanks

Re: R-Survival Analysis Interpretation of Coefficients

    Hi,

i have over 2.5 million coefficients, because i was carrying out a genome-wide association study. i have however given a few examples below of some of the coefficients i got from survreg using a gaussian distribution.

    allele coefficient se pvalue
    SNP1 G/C -0.107 0.048 2.7x10-2
    SNP2 C/T -0.228 0.049 3.1x10-6
    SNP3 T/G -0.148 0.044 7.8x10-4
    SNP4 C/T -0.175 0.043 4.7x10-5

Dependent variable is time to tooth eruption
SNP is the independent variable and is coded as follows (SNP1 example)
individuals with CC are coded as 0
individuals with CG are coded as 1
individuals with GG are coded as 2

How would i interpret these co-efficients?

    Thanks
