how to analyse samples with different distribution?

I have sample 1 with normal distribution and sample 2 with not normal distribution. I want to compare the means of both the samples. Can I compare both the samples? If its possible, do i do ttest or equivalent non-parametric test?

    What are your sample sizes?

Its the variable that has the distribution, not the sample.

Do you mean different sample sizes? If so, use the t-test for unequal N.
