    Power Analysis with limited information

    Hi all,

I am trying to determine how many groups per cell I need in 8 cells. The study I'm basing the analysis on reports the number of groups per cell, the difference in values for the dependent variable between groups, and a regression (coefficient and standard error) with the average change in the dependent variable across 6 experimental conditions.

Based on this information, how would I calculate the sample size? For a two means test, would I use 0 for the control group and -.041 (coefficient) for the treatment group, and the standard deviation calculated from the standard error in the regression? I'm using Stata.

    Thanks in advance!
