Post Explaining 'if' statements using mathematical notation

I am having trouble converting rules into mathematical notation, and maybe someone could help?!

What I have are two variables:
    for all p>0

    for all p>0

    now taking

    If A is max
(these don't have to be big A and big B again, can be whatever)

    If B is max

just wondering if there is a better way to write this (mathematically) rather than like it's a 'computer code'...

I didn't think Piecewise would work as ultimately I want to substitute the and into:

so was looking for some sort of logical notation(?) to insert in place of and

Seems like a good place to use indicator functions.
I don't have emotions and sometimes that makes me very sad.
