    Variable type SOS

i know it may sound stupid to some of you but i have a question i really need an answer to :
In the SPSS i defined an IV as yes/no and marked it(just cause i thought i would have problems with words) Yes = 1 and NO =2. What type of variable that 1/2 variable would be ? i mean i have no idea what all these kinds of variables in this software are (numeric, comma, dot, string etc. etc....) ....

I guess it's bit ignorance but i really need an answer to this simple question.

Thanks a lot everybody for this unique place : )
