Comparing Likert items. What test should I use?

    Hi,

We ran a small survey study (n=50) with questions on perceived value of a tool we've developed. (the participants filled in the survey after they tested the tool). The data is not normally distributed, and we like to see if there are significant differences between following Likert items (1-7) (we want to know what users perceive as more important):

item 1 “Tool helps me remove audiences” M4.5, S.D. 1.29
item 2 “Tool helps me group audiences” M5.23, S.D. 1.25
item 3 “Tool helps me reflect on audiences” M5.56, S.D. 1.27

What test should I use, and why?

(I originally posted the thread in SPSS forum so sorry for cross posting)

    Thanks.

    best,
    RDW

    Hi RDW,

With 3+ independent groups to compare on a non-continuous variable, the Kruskal-Wallis test seems most fitting.

Why do you just post the very same question again,
without giving a hint that it has already been discussed elsewhere?

In essence, you want us to have to look into our crystal
balls in order to find out what exactely your reviewers said
and what they had in mind.

    Thanks seanw

@Karabiner I said "sorry for cross posting" and I copy pasted the topic before it was moved from the SPSS to the applied statistics section. Again, I gave all the information the reviewers gave to me.

I don't want you to look into a crystal ball and guess what the reviewers thought. I just want to know what the appropriate test is.

    Thanks.
