Hi there,

My question is pretty simple, but I think I am going about the wrong way.

An aircraft part has a .40 probability of being repaired in the field and put back into service once it failed.

15 have failed today.

What is the probability that 10 can be repaired?
What is the probability that between 3 to 8 can be repaired?
What is the probability that exactly 5 can be repaired?

I think this is a simple P(A) + P (B) question but I am not sure where to start.

If I have this right, speaking in a single component term:

P(A), that is NOT being repaired is .40, which has to mean that P(A') = .60

If I add all 10 probabilities, then I come up with 4, which can't be since the answer cant be greater than 1. So, do I multiply them instead?
