    sample size calculation

I am trying to determine the necessary sample size I need for a study. Standard 80% power and </= 0.05 p value.

The study is designed to use two different methods to determine a quantitative measurement of something: Method 1 vs. Method 2.

The end results are expressed as percentages. For example, method 1 measures 20% while method 2 measures 25%.

I would like to prove that Method 1 is equally as good as Method 2, which would be true if the measurements for both methods differed by no more than 5%.

Method 2 has never been tested before. I don't have the standard deviation for method 1.

Is it possible to calculate sample size? Thanks.

Please do not post the same question into different subforums.
It might lead to double work.
