Thumbs up Analysis of counts data from consumer test

    Hi everyone,

First of all I'm new to this forum so my apologies in advance for the mistakes I could do by posting here.

My issue is the following one: I want to show consumers a set of products (let's say 7) and ask them to pick their favorite one according to fragrance. Once this is done, I will get counts per products and my point is I want to be able to prove that one products is significantly more or less chosen than the others: getting a significant ranking of products according to counts.

Does anyone know how to analyse this kind of data?

I want to perform this kind of test because I believe this is what consumers "do" when they get to choose a product in order to buy it.

    Thank you very much

    Victor

This is a one-sample problem. You could use one-sample Chi²
for the whole bunch of products (each of the products has
a number of positve responses, you can test test the empiricial
distribution of positive responses against uniform distribution),
and you can also compare products pairwise, using Chi², although
you'll probably need some correction for multiple testing then.

    With kind regards

    K.
