    Study on prevalence of disease

    Greetings!

Can someone advise me on what is the appropriate name for the retrospective study of prevalence of certain disease within patients screened in a single facility?

Is it crossectional retrospective study, or retrospective prevalence study? Or retrospective prevalence blah-blah among the patients of the hospital?

Can this results be extrapolated to the area covered by this hospital?

    Thanks!

Many studies won't fall into a commonly know group name. You just have to pick out the components that describe it.

    Observational
    Retrospective
    Cross-sectional
    Diagnostic

Retrospective Diagnostic Study, then you can better define the other components in your methods section. Typically retrospective implies observational; diagnostic may imply cross-sectional.

Who got screening, what were the methods to reach them? That is who you can generalized finding to.
