    AIC for evaluating transformations

I was just reading an article that seemed to say they used AIC to evaluate continuous variable transformations, I guess in a logistic model.

I am not near a computer on the weekends to play around with this, so I was curious if others had heard of this, done it, or if I am misunderstanding something?

There is a good post on CrossValidate on this, pretty much said make sure it makes sense to transform data. So the method could be used, though it could also just confuse things at the same time.
