Question Continuity Correction and probability using standard normal distribution table

I having trouble understanding the Z score along with getting my mean/SD with the below question. I need to know the break down of "how" rather than the answer.

My question is: If I have 500 hair bands 1.5% (7.5) of them are broken what is the probability that 10 or more hair bands are broken?

I know the Z sore is X-mean/SD, and with continuity correction with +- 0.5. But do we minus 0.5 if we are saying less than and add 0.5 when the probability is greater?
    Thank you.
