    False positive qustion

    Hey All

I have a quick question while I was preparing my self to an interview I have , this is the question :

What is better :having 10 false positives or 80 false positives

I guess it's related to the alpha you set and the # of observation you have , but can someone share with me a detaile explnation ?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: False positive qustion

So you are referring to classification problems? If so there is typically a relationship between false positives and false negatives. So more FP may mean fewer FN. So it comes down to which one you would rather have or which costs more.
