    normal distribution

hi i am studying notmal distributions in class at the moment but i am struggling to understand how they appear graphically - i understand they look like a 'bell-shaped curve' but can they look like 1 and 2, not just 3?
    thanks for your help,
    sophie

Basically, yes. They all go on for ever in both directions but almost zero past about 4 sd.

I am pretty sure 1 and two are left and right skewed which is not normal. The long tails which suggest outliers are part of this.

@noetsi - I think you're becoming a slave to the choice of axis limits. If you imagined the tails going out further into the direction they were cut off then it would look normal to me. The third density looks like it could be normal as well but somebody isn't plotting all the way to 0 for the y-axis.
