# Thread: How Do I interpret this? M=5.99, SD=1.16, n+34, range =1 to 17

1. ## How Do I interpret this? M=5.99, SD=1.16, n+34, range =1 to 17

what does this mean?

N (number of samples = 34)
SD (Your standard deviation is 1.16)
The range for values is 1-17 and M looks like it the test statistic.

But, welcome to the forum.

I think M could be mean or median, also (I'd suspect mean over median, but it probably depends on what's being measured).
